We keep talking about bridal trousseau every time and a lot many times we have asked you to include things to your bridal trousseau. But what is a bridal trousseau? And what all things are actually included in the bridal trousseau?
Well, a bridal trousseau is a luggage pack that the bride is to carry to her new house or the husband’s house after getting married. It carries all the essentials that you will need in your new house, from accessories, to jewellery and makeup, everything! Basic Bridal Trousseau Checklist!
We know that you would obviously want to take everything all along to your new house but it won’t be possible! Your trousseau would obviously be bigger than the traditional size of the bag but it would be limited to certain things that you will be needing right after you move to your new house, post wedding! Here is all that you would be needing…
Indian Wear
1. Sarees

This is the one thing that cannot even think of missing out on. You need to carry at least 8-10 pairs of sarees because it is quite obvious that you will be having a lot many guests at home and with the new bride being in saree, it works like a charm. Trust us!
2. Multi-Purpose Blouse

We know that you will be having all the matching blouses stitched for the particular sarees but having extra blouses which can be worn with any saree is a life savior! The best part is that these blouses come in a variety of designs and necklines.
3. Suit Sets

These would be essential for you to carry as you would be wanting to wear something lighter in your day-to-day life. Having casual suits for everyday use is very essential and these suits are basic, enabling you to move freely and be comfortable while you wear these! Carry at least 5-8 pairs of these.
4. Heavy Suit Sets

Having the heavy suit sets handy would be a great idea. You never know which function you would have to attend right after you wedding and waiting to shop for it when it happens is not a great idea! We would suggest you to carry some nice Anarkali suits along with you which would look absolutely amazing for the functions!
5. Light Lehengas & Ethnic Dresses

These are easy to wear and you will of course be comfortable in these. These make a great addition to your trousseau as a new bride. Carry at least 2-3 piece of these and you would be good to go!
6. Kurtis

Having some single Kurtis handy would be a great idea as you will be able to wear these along with any kind of bottoms like jeans, palazzos or cigarette pants!
Western Wear

No, you cannot carry the whole closet of your western wear along with you. But the basics that you would be needing in your bridal trousseau are 2-3 pair of jeans, 2-3 bottoms, 5-10 tee shirts, and some dresses.
If you are planning to go to honeymoon to a beach place, make sure you do not forget your swimwear at any cost. You wouldn’t want to look out of the place without a swim wear!
Night Wear

Night wears are absolutely essential because you of course cannot do without it. Carry the most comfortable night dresses, shorts/Pajama and T-shirt sets, and you will be good to go!
Makeup & Skincare

Skin care should be your top most priority and you should be packing it the first! Make sure you have the basic things (Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer, Sunscreen) packed and there after you can make additions to it as per you skin type and need. You can also carry hydraulic acid serum that can booth your skin hydration.

Carry every jewellery piece that you bought for your wedding festivities. Keep it packed soon after every ceremony gets over. Pack some dainty and chunky jewellery pieces which you can later wear in some function. You cannot be wearing gold or diamond always, right?
2. Bangles

You need to carry as many bangles sets as you can as these would be great to mix and match while you wear Indian wear! Pack some oxidized bangles too along with your gold, or any metal bangles.
3. Bindis

Now that you are married, you need to carry the grace of the bindi all along. Pack some packets of Bindis of all colours and of all kinds.
4. Saree Pins

5. Hair Accessories

Hair accessories would only enhance your look and you need to look pretty as the new bride, isn’t it? Pack some Juda Pins, Bobby Pins, Scrunchies, Hairbands, Rubber Ties, etc.
Footwear

Do not carry every footwear that you have. Pack maximum 10 pair of footwears and you would be good to go. Have a combination of shoes, flats and heels all along so you do not get into a situation where you do not have anything matching to your clothing!
Bags

Carry a few designer bags, if possible. As a new bride, you must have at least 2-4 bags which you can carry along when you are going out for a function or any event, and that bag should be a versatile design to match along with any outfit!
Lingerie

Never, we repeat, NEVER forget about the lingerie and do not wait till the last moment! You need to have the classy most lingerie because you would obviously need it, after all honey moon would be coming soon 😉
Carry 3-5 daily wear bras, 2-3 sports bras if you are into working out, 5-6 pretty and fancy bras and at least 10 pairs of under wears!
